The South Bend Community School Corporation (SBCSC) will host its annual Parent and Family Expo on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Joe County Public Library. This year’s event, themed “Year of Dads,” will highlight the important role fathers play in the success of their students and the greater South Bend Schools community.
The Expo is free to attend and all South Bend families are encouraged to participate.
The event will kick off with a networking breakfast from 9-10 a.m. for current members of the district’s growing All Pro Dads groups. These chapters, which are popping up in schools throughout South Bend, are designed to increase father involvement and foster stronger parent engagement. Throughout the Expo, information will be available for fathers interested in joining or starting their own All Pro Dads chapter.
In addition to resources for dads, the Parent and Family Expo will offer a wide variety of services and activities aimed at supporting families across the district. Free immunizations, community resource tables, and information about local programs will be available. Children can enjoy engaging activities provided by SB Venue Parks and Arts, the Kroc Center, and the University of Notre Dame Men’s Lacrosse Team. Families can also take advantage of a tour of the library and explore ways to support student literacy.
The event is sponsored by South Bend Schools, Student Services, Bilingual Services, and MDwise, with support from community partners.
