Freeman Named Dodd Trophy Finalist

Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman has been named a finalist for the 2024 Dodd Trophy, recognizing FBS coaches who excel in scholarship, leadership, and integrity. Already a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award, Freeman guided the Irish to an 11-1 record, a No. 3 ranking, and the No. 7 College Football Playoff seed in his third season.

Under Freeman, Notre Dame recorded four wins over ranked opponents and now boasts 11 ranked victories in his first three seasons—more than any Irish head coach over the same span. This year’s team also achieved multiple top 10 national statistical rankings, including first in team passing efficiency defense, turnovers gained, and defensive touchdowns.
