Elkhart Athletics, In Collaboration with Beacon Health System, Announces Hiring Of Staff To Serve Student-Athletes

As part of Elkhart Community Schools' ongoing collaboration with Beacon Health System, two new staff members have been hired to serve over 600 ECS student-athletes and 150 coaches. Emma Schmidt will serve as an athletic trainer and will work directly with lead ECS Athletic Trainer Erin Foreman to support the continued growth, well-being, and safety of ECS student-athletes.

“I am looking forward to working alongside the talented coaches and staff at the Elkhart athletics department. My goal as a certified Beacon athletic trainer is to provide the best medical care I can to each and every student-athlete," says Emma.

The second newly hired staff member, Conner Glon, will serve as a wellness performance specialist. He will act as a strength and conditioning coach, collaborating with certified teachers for Elkhart High School fitness classes during the day and implementing before- and after-school programs for all EHS athletic teams. Points of focus for his role include reducing the risk of injury, developing student-athletes to their full potential, and fostering skills and development for lifelong healthy living.

“I am thrilled to join the Beacon family and am honored to serve the talented student-athletes at Elkhart High School. I am eager to witness and help develop the incredible potential of these athletes. Together, we will achieve new levels of strength, power, and speed in Elkhart,” says Conner.

Elkhart Community Schools would like to acknowledge and thank Beacon Health System for their continued collaboration with the district, offering critical support to students of all sports, competition levels, and abilities.
