At Chester Inc, new employees will have the distinct opportunity to work for not just one of the leading architectural and construction firms in Northwest Indiana, but also leaders in the realms of IT, agricultural systems, and food services. Chester Inc., is a one-stop-shop for organizations seeking state-of-the-art design/build construction coupled with industry-leading managed IT services providing complete turn-key solutions. For new employees like Tony Hart and Joe DeCenzo, this means getting the unique opportunity of being immersed in a diverse business model with a great reputation across several community industries.
Tony Hart - Sales Engineer
Prior to joining the Chester Inc team as a Sales Engineer, Tony worked for Rudd Asset Management as a consultant on large-scale projects. Anxious to support the Architectural & Construction division with his skill set as a sales engineer, Hart can’t wait to hit the ground running.
“I just started on Monday,” Hart laughed. “Everyone here has been great, I’ve been learning a lot and I’m looking forward to representing Chester in the community and bringing in some good connections to the company.”
Tony and his wife Holly were recently married and are life-long Valparaiso residents. They both enjoy spending time with family and friends as well as traveling, music concerts, and Blackhawks games. Tony attended Purdue University in West Lafayette. He and Holly love the Valparaiso community and look forward to raising their family here.
“I feel pretty involved in the community, and my wife and I have a strong connection with the community,” said Hart. “I’m looking forward to learning the process of design, build, and finance. Having all of those aspects under one roof is great for clients and really sets Chester apart from everyone else,” stated Hart.
Joe DeCenzo - Architect
DeCenzo was born and raised in New England where he studied architecture at Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, and would go on to practice in Boston, Phoenix, Portland, Oregon, and rural Maine for the next twelve years. DeCenzo also spent time as a construction laborer working on Georgian and Federal period buildings for a historic restoration in Maine, as well as making furniture in Colorado.
DeCenzo further went on to graduate from Notre Dame Law School in 2013, and worked as an attorney in private practice, and also as a municipal lawyer for the City of San Antonio, Texas. While working in San Antonio, he handled land use issues including zoning, platting, land entitlements, and historic preservation. DeCenzo and his fiancée Liz recently bought a home and moved to Morgan Township in late 2017.
"I'm looking forward to getting to know the projects I'll be working on. Everyone has just been great and welcoming so far," said DeCenzo on what he is looking forward to in his position as architect for Chester's Architectural & Construction division.
