Amazon Web Services breaks ground on $11 billion data center in St. Joseph County

Amazon Web Services (AWS) broke ground on a new data center in St. Joseph County on Monday, September 30. The data center is part of an $11 billion investment into the South Bend-Mishawaka metropolitan area, the largest in state history.

The groundbreaking for the data center was attended by leadership from both the South Bend-Mishawaka metropolitan area and AWS, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, and members of the South Bend Regional Chamber, all of whom have worked together for months to commence this project.

The Builders Association of Elkhart County (BAEC) hosted its annual Parade of Homes event. Held at the modest Metro Event Center in Elkhart from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Michiana alumni united for delicious appetizers and drinks all while celebrating their shared past and present contributions to the Michiana region.
