Chester, Inc., joins family, friends, clients to celebrate opening of Meyers Glaros Group in Merrillville

It was an evening filled with warm greetings, laughs, and celebration at 8605 Broadway in Merrillville, the new headquarters for Meyers Glaros Group. Family, friends, and clients all gathered Wednesday evening to celebrate the next chapter for the company, which was a dream come true made possible in part by Chester Inc.

After purchasing the building, Meyers Glaros Group’s insurance company worked closely with Chester Inc,. on a design and plan for the building. Larry Meyers, founding partner of Meyers Glaros Group, said the full-service insurance agency wanted a more modern feel and open office space.

“My son [Jeff Meyers, President of Meyers Glaros Group] and Matt Glaros [CEO of Meyers Glaros Group] knew of the work Chester Inc. had done and how great their design services are,” Meyers said. “We gutted it and Chester Inc., was our one-stop-shop because they have all the tools necessary to make the plans, and the interior design expertise as well.”

The company’s previous facility was about 3,000 square feet and couldn’t accommodate all of its employees. Formerly an attorney’s office, the company’s new 9,000-square-foot building can support future growth. Meyers Glaros Group also had some particular goals in mind for the new digs.

“This was an exciting project for us be a part of,” said Rich Shields, the director of marketing & business development at Chester Inc. “There is a strong partnership between Chester and the Meyers Glaros Group, and we wish ownership and their employees all the best and continued success.”

“Chester Inc. made it all come together,” Meyers said. “We now have a more modern feel, open but semi-private office space, a workout room, and a cafeteria.”

The new cafe features a full kitchen and seating for more than two dozen people. The spaces were designed with the company’s employees in mind, and Meyers said the cafe will serve as a way to give back to the community.

“We intend to offer it to non-profit organizations to hold meetings for free,” he said.

“I love the cafeteria,” said Liz Gilhooly, P & C team assistant at Meyers Glaros Group. “Matt and Jeff were on the search for the perfect location when they found this, and Chester Inc., did an outstanding job bringing their vision to life.”

Matt Glaros said the company couldn’t have asked for a better partner to renovate the building.

“Working with Chester Inc. has been fantastic,” Glaros said. “They helped work through our budget to make sure we could get the things we wanted in here, such as the cafeteria, and they provided ideas and concepts that could help us save in the long run.”
